Devotional
In the ancient Jewish engagement process, a groom would extend a cup of wine to the his intended bride as an offer of a lifelong covenant. This act signified his intent to pay the bride price, prepare a place for her, and return to bring her into his home. This mirrors Christ’s relationship with His Church, where He offered Himself as the ultimate bride price. As believers, we are invited into this divine covenant, accepting His love and promise to prepare a place for us. Just as the bride anticipated her groom’s return, we too are called to live in anticipation of Christ's return, keeping our hearts ready and our faith steadfast.

Bible Verse
John 14:2-3: “There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”

How does knowing that Jesus is preparing a place for you influence your daily life and choices?

Dear Lord, thank You for the covenant of love You’ve extended to us through Jesus. Help us to live in anticipation of Your return, keeping our hearts ready and our faith strong. Amen.
