Ready to Fight - Day 1 of 5

Day 1: The Helmet of Salvation

Five-day devotional based on the message, "Ready to Fight" by Senior Pastor Jeff Maness on April 6, 2025. Click here to watch the video.

Devotional
As Christians, we are engaged in a spiritual battle, and just like a Roman soldier, we must adorn ourselves with the full armor of God. The helmet of salvation is not just a symbol of our initial acceptance of Christ but a daily reminder of our identity and purpose in Him, affirming who we are in Christ and empowering us to stand firm against the enemy's lies. It’s about opening ourselves up to be restored and refueled by Christ each day—so that we can return to our lives with Him at the center—changing the world one life at a time. By embracing salvation as an ongoing reality, we are continually restored and refueled by Christ, allowing us to live with confidence in Him.

Bible Verse
“Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” — Ephesians 6:17

Reflection Question
How does viewing salvation as a daily, living reality change your perspective on your spiritual journey?

Sermon Quote
“And this (salvation) is not just a one-time occurrence. Receiving salvation is not the same as applying salvation. The first redeems us; the second restores, protects, and shields us daily from the attacks of the enemy.” — Priscilla Shirer

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation and the confidence it brings into my life. Help me to put on the helmet of salvation each day, protecting myself from the enemy's lies. Teach me to live in the reality of Your love and grace, standing firm in my identity in Christ. Amen.
