The End of the World as We Know It - Day 1 of 5

Day 1: Problems Will Continue

Devotional:
In our world today, problems seem to be ever-present, echoing the words of Jesus in Matthew 24. As followers of Christ, we are reminded that the challenges we face—wars, natural disasters, and political upheaval—are not signs of immediate doom but indicators that we must remain vigilant. These issues remind us that the world is not as it should be and encourage us to place our hope in the future restoration that Jesus promises. Problems will persist, but they are birth pains, signaling the eventual arrival of a new creation where Jesus will reign supreme.

Bible Verse:
“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.” - Matthew 24:6-8 (NLT)

Reflection Question:
How can you remain focused on Jesus amidst the ongoing problems in the world?

Sermon Quote:
“These problems are going to continue. They are a reminder for us that things are not right in this world.”

Prayer:
Lord, help me to remain steadfast in my faith despite the problems I see around me. Strengthen my trust in Your ultimate plan for restoration and peace. Amen.
