Uganda Leadership Academy

In the Summer of 2022, The Harbor stepped into a partnership with the Uganda Leadership Development Program, which is a project sponsored by Greater Calling. Through the generous support of The Harbor's Compassion Fund, our church was able to cover the costs for 12 of the potential 40 individuals that could be a part of the launch of this important project, which kicked off in June, 2022.

“The Uganda Leadership Development Program (UGLDP) seeks to equip youth as emerging leaders with skills that promote
sustainable community transformation, stewardship, and active community leadership.”
-- Greater Calling website

It is exciting to note that a Harbor member was intimately involved in both the development of the program, as well as being a key presenter in Uganda during Phase I of the program. Attached is a status report from Phase I which was completed in July, 2022.

New Hope Foundation

For over 10 years, The Harbor has provided financial resources to support the efforts of New Hope Foundation, an organization that provides for the medical treatment and care of infants and children in the country of China. New Hope Foundation takes in orphaned infants and children with special physical and medical needs and provides them with a caring and secure environment in as close to a normal home environment as possible.

New Hope Foundation works closely with the local Child Welfare Institutes to seek out the very best medical solution for each child’s physical challenges and facilitates their treatment in order to give these children the very best opportunities for the future.

Through our prayers and faithful giving to The Harbor's Compassion Fund, we have been reaffirmed in supporting this great work.

HAITI

God has placed the country of Haiti on the hearts of those at The Harbor. Our church has sent teams on short-term mission trips, gathered and distributed basic needs and financial resources, and lifted prayers for God's kingdom to advance in Haiti. Currently we are partnering with a mission organization called Life Ansanm in a variety of ways.

We Go: Pre-COVID, we took two trips into Cap-Rouge Haiti yearly. Historically, our Spring Break trip was made up of mostly students from The Harbor's Student Ministry. Our summer trip was made up of mostly adults. We have seen God move in mighty ways as we have trained pastors during a pastor conference, we hosted a marriage conference, lead multiple kids camps, put on a city-wide evangelical crusade, gone door-to-door prayer walking, handed out Bibles to the village, and worked on countless construction/building projects. We go to be a blessing to the people of Cap Rouge, but more often than not they bless us! Please pray our teams may return to Haiti soon!

We Give: Life Ansanm has the heart, passion, and plan to change Cap Rouge in and through the church, education, job creation/community development, and family/health care. To achieve the plans God has laid before Life Ansanm, they need financial support. We know ministry happens even when we are not on the ground in Cap Rouge. Therefore, as ongoing support, we as The Harbor give to Ansanm monthly to help advance the good news of Jesus. Would you pray about joining with us as we join with them in financial support?

We Pray: We know that without the power of God our efforts are futile. Without God's guidance, the work of Life Ansanm is minimal at best, but in and through the power of God the city of Cap Rouge and the country of Haiti can be changed for the glory of God. The most powerful thing anyone of us can do is pray. Would you commit to joining us as we regularly pray for Life Ansanm, Cap Rouge, and the country of Haiti?

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,
as though God were making his appeal through us.
